Lapwing on the flood meadows

February

Primroses
Primroses

Primroses start to flower in February and are commonly found on sunny banks and in open woodland. Another woodland plant beginning to flower is Dog’s Mercury, often overlooked as its flowers are small and light green. The yellow flowers of Lesser Celandine appear along hedgerows and Alder catkins will be turning yellow in February.

Footpaths - 1 July

Most paths are now very dry although the warm, wet weather has encouraged lots of growth leading to some paths being a bit overgrown.

Report overgrown rights of way to East Sussex and other paths to the Friends of Combe Valley.
