1066 Path Improvements

About 20 volunteers, mostly from the Friends of Combe Valley and a few from Crowhurst Environmental Group, gathered today to improve the access along the 1066 path where it crosses the flood meadows.

Led by Dean Morrison, from High Weald AONB, we cut back the willows that had fallen across the path where it follows the edge of the field making it easier to walk when the field is wet but not badly flooded. No more clambering over or ducking under the branches! The path will still be very muddy in the winter and at times badly flooded, but come the spring and summer it will be much easier to walk along.

The branches that have been cut off have been stacked on slightly higher ground and will be moved and disposed of by the farmer in the spring.
